AnnMarie Grohs is ThinkFastMoveFaster.com's Featured Athlete of the Week

AnnMarie, who moved to Richmond from Chicago four years ago, took up the sport because she felt it was the best way to give her body a total workout and something she came to thoroughly enjoy.

AnnMarie's motivation to get more involved with running came with her move to Richmond. She got involved with the Richmond Road Runners, where she got involved and found like-minded runners that provided her with encouragement. She was also encouraged by Richmond's temperate climate, which is ideal for running, and the wide variety of different races held year-round.

She especially enjoys trail runs because they help her clear her head. Recently, AnnMarie took on a 12-mile course along the James River with friends.

AnnMarie says her biggest accomplishment was a finish time of 42:46 in the 2008 Monument Avenue 10K, a personal record.
