So, this week saw the start of Lent, and though I'm not Catholic, I decided it was a great time to renew my resolve to continue running and getting healthy.
I'm resolved to stick to my workouts every week and to push myself harder than ever before. I've also started posting weekly challenges for my two girlfriends who are on this road with me. So far I've been the only one excited about the challenges, but its early yet. (I also am the only one of the three who doesn't have kids...or a job for that matter!)
I finished the first "week" strong despite being sick. I skipped my planned yoga on Friday and the workout slated for yesterday...but got back to it today.
I started week 3 of C25k too with a goal of increasing my speed on the treadmill from 4.4 to 4.6 by the end of the week.
I challenged myself to a weekly total of 50 pushups and 50 situps to be completed by 5pm today. Not only did I make the situps, but I actually have learned how to do proper pushups (modified) ....something I've never been able to do. Granted, we still aren't completely there...they are a bit weak, but I'm trying and that's all that matters!!
This next week is going to be a challenge on its own, even without the extra Official Weekly Challenge thrown in. Since I started the new C25k week off on Sunday, I'm going to have to flip the running and cross training days. That's not really the tough part - I can still remember that much. However, this will also be the first that I've worked out 5 days:
Monday: Cross Train + Weights (Legs)
Tuesday: Day 2/Week3 C25k + Stretching
Wednesday: Cross Train + Weights (Arms)
Thursday: Day 3/Week 3 C25k + Stretching
Friday : Yoga or light walk
Saturday: Level Up - Day 1/Week 4 C25k + Stretching
I'm still not sure what the Official Weekly Challenge will be this week...but I think situps and pushups will be included!!
If anyone reading this is interested, let me know and I can post the challenge on this forum too!
